The Keti Koti Dialogue Table is a gathering during which is reflected on the contemporary consequences of the Dutch slavery past over a ritual meal. The dialogue table brings people with diverse backgrounds together and in conversation: acquaintances and strangers, people of different generations and cultures from different communities.

Our guest is a human rights defender who works on capacity building of human rights organisations in their country, promotion of civic and political rights, and protection of civic space. In doing so, they face a lot of obstacles in their work, from discriminatory laws and surveillance. During the lecture, our guest discusses the history of their country and tells how democracy came under pressure. They also talk about what their work as a human rights defender is like.

Studium Generale and Opera Zuid are teaming up to offer students a unique opportunity to go to the opera – at a quarter of the normal price! From ingenious disguises to secret dates; the clichés of love are presented with a twist in the double bill La scala di seta / Il signor Bruschino by bel canto grandmaster Gioacchino Rossini. A comical ‘feel-good’ performance not to be missed!
